In a significant disclosure, Union Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh informed the Lok Sabha that no formal discussions have taken place with the United States regarding the acquisition of F-35 fighter jets. This announcement was made in a written reply to questions from Congress MP Balwant Baswant Wankhade concerning US military assistance to India.

During Prime Minister Modi's visit to the United States, a joint statement hinted at a policy review concerning F-35 jets and underwater systems. However, Singh clarified that no tangible discussions have been pursued. Addressing queries about US diplomacy in de-escalating India-Pakistan tensions, Singh noted that conversations were held with various nations, emphasizing direct communications had mitigated military actions at Pakistan's behest.

Singh reiterated India's stance on bilateral resolution with Pakistan, underlining that any outstanding issues would be addressed without third-party involvement. He highlighted the robust India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership rooted in mutual trust and strategic collaboration, stating India's evaluation of international partnerships aligns with national interest and commitment to sovereignty.
