In a bold allegation, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has voiced fears regarding the exclusion of millions of voters from Bihar's electoral roll. Yadav has claimed that the Election Commission's omission of critical data has led to the removal of approximately 65 lakh voters, accounting for about 8.5 percent of the electorate, significantly impacting the identification of missing names.
Yadav highlighted the absence of essential details, such as voter addresses and booth numbers, raising concerns about transparency in the electoral process. He cited personal experience, claiming that despite holding a valid Electors Photo Identity Card, his name was missing from the electoral list, bringing into question the process's integrity ahead of upcoming elections.
The RJD leader has called on the Election Commission to provide booth-wise details openly, demanding that the draft electoral deadline be extended until these issues are satisfactorily addressed. Yadav further appeals for intervention from the Supreme Court to ensure accountability. Meanwhile, the Election Commission has assured the public that no name will be removed from draft lists without adequate justification, as the state navigates through a one-month claims and objections phase.
