In a pointed address in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp critique against the Congress and Samajwadi Party, accusing them of siding with Pakistan by questioning the recent Operation Sindoor in Jammu and Kashmir. Modi alleged that the opposition was mourning the loss of terrorists alongside their sympathizers from across the border.

Referring to his first visit to the city after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack in April, Modi slammed Congress for belittling the Indian armed forces through derogatory remarks. He lambasted party member Praniti Shinde for calling Operation Sindoor a 'tamasha,' framing it as a disservice to the valor of soldiers and the sanctity of Indian traditions.

Modi also took aim at Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, calling his criticism of 'Operation Mahadev' politically motivated. The Prime Minister defended the timing of military actions, stressing the necessity of immediate responses to terror threats and highlighting a pattern of appeasement and indecisiveness in opposition ranks.
