Patna District Magistrate Dr Thiyagarajan SM has addressed the controversy stirred by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav's claims that his name was omitted from the electoral roll. Dr Thiyagarajan assured that Yadav's name is listed at the booth where he previously voted, highlighting the transparency measures in place for voter verification through name or EPIC number.

Dr Thiyagarajan pointed out that the EPIC number stated in Yadav's 2020 election affidavit aligns with the current voter roll, debunking any assertions of changes or deletions. He suggested that the confusion might stem from Yadav referencing a different EPIC card, emphasizing that any discrepancies would be investigated.

The DM also responded to social media queries, stating that all issues would be addressed. The Election Commission of India confirmed that Yadav's name appears at serial number 416 in the draft roll, countering his allegations. The Commission reassured the public that the voter list was shared with parties, and a one-month window is open for claims and objections.
