Maharashtra Congress President Harshwardhan Sapkal has accused the BJP of targeting its Mahayuti allies by recruiting former Congress leaders from crucial constituencies held by Shiv Sena and NCP MLAs.

In an interview with PTI, Sapkal asserted that these leaders defected due to fear and greed, but the Congress remains resolute in upholding its ideology.

Despite a series of defections following their poor performance in the 2024 Assembly elections, the Congress plans to revamp and strengthen its presence in anticipation of the upcoming local body elections.
