In a biting critique, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Monday slammed the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government for its handling of the ongoing flood crisis, branding it as "corrupt and ineffective." Yadav pointed out numerous hardships faced by flood-affected residents, urging the Yogi Adityanath administration to take immediate corrective measures.
Hitting out on social media, Yadav questioned the state government's priorities, contrasting its capability to organize grand events against its alleged failure in conducting effective relief operations. He brought attention to shortages of food, potable water, sanitation, and healthcare services, which have severely impacted vulnerable groups such as children, pregnant women, and the elderly.
Further underscoring the dire situation, Yadav reported inundated belongings, fears of floods-associated diseases, and increased risks due to power outages. He demanded a detailed public account from the BJP regarding its response efforts and accountability towards those whose sustenance has been jeopardized by the floods.
