Brazil's High Court Orders Home Detention for Bolsonaro Amid Coup Allegations
Brazil's Supreme Court has ordered house arrest for ex-President Jair Bolsonaro, who faces trial for allegedly orchestrating a coup attempt. This follows accusations of leading a criminal group aiming to overturn the 2022 election. Restrictions include ankle monitoring and restricted visitation rights.

Brazil's Supreme Court has placed former President Jair Bolsonaro under house arrest amidst allegations of leading a coup attempt after losing the 2022 election.
Justice Alexandre de Moraes justified the order, citing Bolsonaro's breach of court-imposed conditions by disseminating information via his son's social media.
The case accuses Bolsonaro of spearheading a criminal organization planning to overturn the election results, with drastic measures such as assassination plots against President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and a Supreme Court justice. The court has enforced ankle monitoring and restricted his communications and mobility.
