In an escalating diplomatic exchange, the Indian Army highlighted historical criticisms of US foreign policy, posting a 1971 news clipping that detailed American arms supplied to Pakistan. The release comes amid Washington's criticism of India's energy trade with Russia.
The Eastern Command's move seems aimed at reflecting longstanding geopolitical dynamics, reminiscent of the Indo-Pak War period. At the time, it was noted that US arms worth $2 billion had been shipped to Pakistan since 1954.
India has vehemently countered the US and EU's allegations of 'unjustified' behaviour, stressing the importance of securing its economic interests. New Delhi pointed to Western countries' ongoing trade with Russia as an illustration of their double standards.
