Veteran Indian politician Satyapal Malik has passed away at the age of 79 after a long battle with illness. Malik, who served as governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Goa, Bihar, Meghalaya, and Odisha, breathed his last at 1.12 pm at Ram Manohar Lohia hospital, according to his aides.
Malik was admitted to the ICU of the hospital, where he had been undergoing treatment for various ailments. His extensive political journey also saw him serving as a member of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, marking him as a significant figure in Indian politics.
His career spanned numerous roles, making notable contributions in each of the positions he held. His passing marks the end of an era in Indian political history.
