In a dramatic turn of events, Suvendu Adhikari's convoy came under attack in the Cooch Behar district, allegedly by TMC workers during a protest. The incident unfolded as Adhikari, Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, led a BJP demonstration against recent assaults on party MLAs.
BJP reported that a mob armed with TMC and black flags targeted Adhikari near Khagrabari, where his convoy faced slogans and physical aggression, resulting in damaged vehicle windows. The TMC dismissed these accusations as a 'well-scripted drama,' asserting their non-involvement in the alleged attack.
The protest coincided with a local 'Bhasa Andolan' organized by TMC, who claimed it was a retaliation for Adhikari's planned march. While BJP criticized the act as intimidation, the district administration has yet to release an official statement confirming any injuries.
