West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has launched a scathing critique of the BJP, accusing the party and the Election Commission of India (ECI) of targeting Bengali-speaking voters through a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) activity. During a protest march in Jhargram, Banerjee alleged that the ECI was acting under the Union Home Minister's influence.

Highlighting her readiness to protest globally if genuine voters are removed from West Bengal's lists, Banerjee lashed out at BJP leader Amit Malviya, who called for her arrest. She alleged that the SIR activity is part of a broader NRC conspiracy, citing instances in Assam where Hindu Bengalis were removed from voter lists.

Banerjee further criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah, questioning the demand for birth certificates from voters and pointing out that similar scams have led to the creation of detention camps in various states. She condemned the BJP's divisive politics, particularly towards Bengali-speaking citizens and Muslims, urging unity and resistance against such moves.
