Swiss-U.S. Trade Talks Stall Amid Tariff Dispute
The Federal Council of Switzerland will meet to address failed negotiations aiming to reduce U.S. tariffs on Swiss goods from 39% to 10%. Swiss President Karin Keller-Sutter's visit to Washington ended without an agreement as proposed tariff reductions were declined by U.S. officials.

The Swiss government is set for a crucial meeting following inconclusive trade negotiations with the U.S., where efforts to lower tariffs on Swiss exports from 39% fell through. The Federal Council, Switzerland's executive body, will gather on Thursday to deliberate on the next steps.
Despite Swiss President Karin Keller-Sutter's high-profile visit to Washington, she left without securing any changes to the tariff structure. A source confirmed that the U.S. dismissed her proposal to set tariffs at a reduced rate of 10%.
Nevertheless, Keller-Sutter described her discussions with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio as "very good," although she didn't get the opportunity to meet with President Donald Trump or senior trade figures during her trip.
