Modi Stands Firm Against US Tariff Pressure to Protect India's Farmers

This stance comes after Trump's administration escalated tariffs on Indian goods to 50 percent, impacting ongoing bilateral trade negotiations. The US seeks increased access to India's agricultural and dairy markets, a demand New Delhi resists to protect its farmers.

Speaking at the centenary event of late agriculturist M S Swaminathan, Modi emphasized India's commitment to its agricultural sector and presented new government initiatives to tackle climate change challenges.
