In a significant political development, Karnataka Cooperation Minister K N Rajanna was dismissed from the Cabinet, following the recommendation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the subsequent approval by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot.

The decision came after Rajanna refused to resign despite being urged to do so by Siddaramaiah. Reports from the Chief Minister's office indicate that the dismissal was linked to Rajanna's comments accusing his party-led government of "vote theft" during the Lok Sabha elections in Mahadevapura.

The governor's office communicated the removal via a letter from Special Secretary R Prabhushankar to the Karnataka Chief Secretary, marking the end of Rajanna's Cabinet role. Known as a loyalist of Siddaramaiah, Rajanna's exit reflects the internal tensions within the party.
