In a heated political exchange, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ram Kadam accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of engaging in 'urban naxalism' by allegedly defaming the Election Commission (EC). Kadam, representing the Ghatkopar West Vidhan Sabha, suggested that Gandhi's attempts are deliberate actions to undermine democratic institutions.
Kadam further criticized Gandhi for allegedly spreading misinformation about 'vote theft' without providing concrete evidence. He questioned why Gandhi has not presented any 'foolproof information' to the EC, adding that courts have repeatedly reprimanded the Congress leader for his claims.
Earlier, a protest march by Congress leaders was thwarted by the Delhi police. Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, along with other INDIA bloc members, were detained while marching to the EC over issues related to the electoral roll revision and alleged vote theft. During the detention, Rahul Gandhi branded the movement as a constitutional fight, echoing calls for a clean voters list.
