In a heated political exchange, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ram Kadam sharply criticized Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Monday, accusing him of defaming the Election Commission. Kadam labeled Gandhi's actions as 'urban naxalism' and accused him of indirectly supporting anti-establishment forces.
Kadam further challenged Gandhi's claims of vote theft, questioning why he hasn't provided 'foolproof information' to the Election Commission despite speaking out in the media. Kadam said Gandhi's allegations were unsubstantiated and part of a smear campaign against democratic institutions.
Amidst the growing controversy, Delhi police detained Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi alongside other opposition MPs during a protest against alleged electoral roll anomalies ahead of the Bihar elections. The protest, linking electoral integrity with constitutional values, saw accusations of government suppression as police intervened to stop the march.
