DMK Stands Firm Amidst ED Raids and Allegations of 'Vote Chori'
The ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu criticized the ED for raids on its senior leader, I Periyasamy, claiming it diverts from BJP's alleged electoral fraud. The ED's probe links back to a money laundering case against Periyasamy, following allegations of 'vote chori' in the 2024 elections.

In a significant move, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids on Saturday targeting Tamil Nadu's ruling DMK senior leader and Minister, I Periyasamy. The operation, part of a money laundering probe, involved searches at multiple properties linked to Periyasamy and his MLA-son I P Senthilkumar in Chennai and Dindigul.
The DMK, led by its Organisation Secretary R S Bharathi, has strongly denounced the ED's actions, calling it a politically motivated attempt to distract from alleged electoral fraud coined as 'vote chori' by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Bharathi accused the BJP of misusing autonomous bodies as tools for electoral gain.
This latest probe stems from a directive by the Madras High Court to press charges against Periyasamy over a disproportionate assets case valued at Rs 2.1 crore. Despite challenges and allegations, senior DMK leaders, including Kanimozhi, affirmed that the party remains steadfast and undeterred.
