Slovakia's Fico Endorses Trump-Putin Peace Initiative
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico supports Trump and Putin's efforts in Alaska to resolve the Ukraine conflict. He emphasizes the importance of EU backing and criticizes the current strategy aimed at weakening Russia. Fico has visited Moscow and opposed military aid to Ukraine.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico expressed strong support on Saturday for the ongoing peace initiative by former U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, aimed at resolving the Ukrainian conflict. Fico's announcement marks a distinct divergence from the usual stance of many Western nations.
Fico, who has made two visits to Moscow in the past year and consistently opposed providing official military aid to Ukraine, shared his approval of the process through a recorded statement posted on Facebook. He highlighted this initiative as a critical moment for potential EU involvement.
Looking ahead, Fico noted that the coming days would reveal whether the European Union's dominant countries would back this initiative or continue with their current strategy, which he described as ineffective and burdened with incredible financial, political, and military support to Kyiv.
