Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to launch a significant campaign in Bihar, the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra,' aimed at promoting the democratic principle of 'one person, one vote.' This 16-day journey will cover over 1,300km and is backed by allies such as RJD and Mahagathbandhan leaders.
The move comes in response to allegations against the Election Commission's special intensive revision of electoral rolls, which the Congress claims disenfranchises voters. In a press conference, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera emphasized the yatra's historic importance, positioning it as a battle against attempts to undermine democracy.
Planned from August 17 to September 1, the march will traverse multiple districts, culminating with a large rally in Patna. Gandhi's effort is part of a larger 'Voter Awareness Campaign' to safeguard elections and protect citizens' voting rights across the nation.
