Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, has assured full support to Jammu and Kashmir following a cloudburst in Kathua that claimed at least seven lives. He has coordinated with the Lieutenant Governor and Chief Minister to facilitate rescue efforts.

Local administration and NDRF teams are actively engaged in relief operations to address the aftermath of the calamity in the Rajbagh and Janglote areas of Kathua, triggered by intense overnight rains.

This natural disaster comes just days after flash floods caused by a cloudburst devastated Chisoti village in Kishtwar, resulting in 60 fatalities and over 100 injuries, highlighting a period of challenging weather conditions in the region.
