The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) parliamentary board has chosen Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan as the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) vice-presidential candidate. The announcement was made on Sunday by BJP president J P Nadda following a detailed meeting led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Nadda expressed optimism regarding support from opposition parties for Radhakrishnan, emphasizing the candidate's capabilities and the significance of collaborative efforts. The decision comes in the wake of Jagdeep Dhankhar's resignation as vice-president last month.
The vice-presidential election, prompted by Dhankhar's resignation, is slated for September 9, with the deadline for nominations set for August 22.
