In a bold statement on Sunday, BRS Working President K T Rama Rao accused the Election Commission of India (ECI) of acting as an arm of the NDA, urging a revision of the ECI appointment process. This comes as the ECI attempts to address concerns over electoral roll revisions.
Reacting to the Chief Election Commissioner's recent press conference, Rao took to 'X' to express that the explanations provided were insufficient, offering more excuses than solutions. The electoral roll revision aims to rectify voter list discrepancies, facing criticism from several political parties.
K T Rama Rao also highlighted discrepancies within the ECI itself, suggesting a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) not just of voter lists, but of the entire ECI mechanism to protect democratic processes and maintain public trust in electoral integrity.
