Radhakrishnan: From Governor to Vice-Presidential Hopeful
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis met Governor C P Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai, as he was announced as the NDA's vice-presidential candidate. Fadnavis presented him with a book of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's letters. BJP President J P Nadda made the announcement, calling for a unanimous election.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held a courtesy meeting with Governor C P Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai, following the latter's nomination as the NDA's vice-presidential candidate.
Radhakrishnan, set to move to New Delhi, was presented with a book containing unpublished letters of Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by Fadnavis and State Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar.
Radhakrishnan, a seasoned BJP leader from Tamil Nadu with a strong OBC constituency, was officially announced as a candidate by BJP President J P Nadda after party deliberations involving Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Efforts to secure opposition support for his candidacy are underway.
