In his address, the Prime Minister also issued sharp criticism against the Congress, particularly targeting former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's management of the Indus Waters Treaty. Modi accused Nehru of compromising India's interests for personal image enhancement, a move met with disapproval by other leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
