In a heated political clash, Bharatiya Janata Party's national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia on Tuesday accused Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, of propagating falsehoods through his campaign in Bihar. Bhatia termed Gandhi's 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' as a 'shop of lies' amidst Congress's allegations of election discrepancies.

Addressing a BJP press conference, Bhatia referred to the Supreme Court's recent dismissal of a petition alleging bogus voting in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections. The court found no substantial evidence to support the claims. Bhatia criticized Gandhi, questioning if he would apologize for misleading the public and undermining democracy.

BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad further attacked Congress, suggesting the party's agenda included maintaining infiltrators and deceased individuals on voter lists. Highlighting previous controversies, Prasad accused Gandhi of evasion on issues like Pegasus and Rafale, claiming Gandhi has lost the trust of both the Parliament and the nation.

In the backdrop of these accusations, the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra', initiated as a protest against electoral roll revisions, spans 1,300 km across Bihar aiming to highlight electoral discrepancies. However, BJP allies, including LJP's Shambhavi Choudhary, asserted the campaign would not favor the Opposition's electoral alliance.
