Aare Shyamala, a spokesperson for the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), launched a vehement critique of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-led coalition government in Andhra Pradesh, citing a surge in crimes against women and accusing TDP legislators of engaging in harassment and intimidation tactics.
In a press conference, Shyamala condemned Amudalavalasa MLA Kuna Ravi Kumar for allegedly harassing KGBV Principal Soumya, accusing him of confining her in his office and making unsolicited video calls at night. She also alleged that Guntur East MLA Naseer's harassment drove a woman named Sofia to a suicide attempt.
Targeting the silence of Home Minister Anitha amidst these claims, Shyamala questioned the effectiveness of the coalition's Shakti App compared to protections under the previous administration. Highlighting police inaction and media bias, she pledged that the YSR Congress Party will advocate for women's rights and marginalized groups in the state.
