Retired Supreme Court judge B Sudershan Reddy expressed his gratitude towards the INDIA bloc for selecting him as their Vice Presidential candidate. He made a public appeal to all Members of Parliament to support his nomination, expressing appreciation for the alliance's choice.

Addressing concerns of regional bias, Reddy emphasized national unity, asserting that origin is irrelevant since both he and his opponent, Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan, are Indian nationals. He reiterated that the election transcends regional affiliations, focusing instead on national unity.

The INDIA bloc declared Reddy's nomination, highlighting the election as an ideological battle against the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA). With Aam Aadmi Party's support, Reddy is set to file his nomination on August 21 to contest the Vice-Presidential election on September 9.
