The Vice Presidential election has ignited a fierce ideological battle between the candidates supported by contrasting political visions. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader TKS Elangovan highlighted this divide, describing the contest as a struggle between the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) influence and a proponent of social justice, B Sudershan Reddy.
Elangovan criticized NDA's candidate, Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan, for allegedly neglecting Tamil Nadu's interests, arguing that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has consistently deprived the state of crucial funds. He emphasized that Radhakrishnan's allegiance to the RSS makes him incompatible with the DMK's principles of social justice.
Retired Supreme Court judge B Sudershan Reddy expressed gratitude to the INDIA bloc for backing his Vice Presidential candidacy, appealing to Parliament members for their support. In his remarks, Reddy downplayed regional differences, focusing instead on shared Indian nationality and the importance of upholding constitutional values in the electoral contest against the NDA.
