Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday called for unity among political factions in the state, invoking 'Telugu pride' to support former Supreme Court Judge B Sudershan Reddy's run in the vice presidential elections. Emphasizing the non-political and non-controversial nature of Justice Reddy, he appealed to leaders across party lines.

At a press briefing, CM Reddy urged MPs from TDP, BRS, YSRCP, Janasena, and AIMIM to vote for the INDI Alliance candidate as a representation of their conscience. He described the election as a pivotal moment for the Telugu people to elect one of their own to significant national office.

Revanth Reddy further argued that the election was a battle to preserve the Constitution and reservations for Backward communities. Drawing historical parallels, he reminded the political camaraderie shown by NT Rama Rao in 1991, urging similar support from current leaders. He criticized BJP leader J P Nadda for controversial remarks and sought clarity on pending BC quota bills.
