The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has launched a scathing attack on the Election Commission, accusing it of executing the RSS's agenda during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar. Highlighted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day speech, the controversy revolves around the exclusion of undocumented citizens.

In Bihar, the CPI(M) claimed that the revision contradicted norms and risked mass disenfranchisement. They pointed out that many disenfranchised individuals belong to minority communities, women, or are from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The opposition alleges the EC's partiality favors the current ruling party, BJP.

Consequently, the opposition parties have united and approached the Supreme Court for resolution. Alongside domestic policy grievances, the CPI(M) called for resistance to the government's economic strategies and trade policies, particularly concerning tariffs imposed by the US and relations with Russia.
