Russia's Stance on Ukraine Security Talks: A Road to Nowhere?
Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov criticized the exclusion of Moscow from discussions on Ukraine's security. He stated that resolving such issues without Russia's involvement is futile, following President Trump's talks with Ukraine and European leaders on assurances to end the conflict.

In a strong rebuke, Russia declared that addressing Ukraine's security concerns without its involvement is counterproductive. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov emphasized this stance at a recent press conference.
Lavrov's remarks came shortly after a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump, Ukraine's president, and European leaders. The discussions focused on providing security guarantees to help end the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Highlighting the necessity of Russia's participation, Lavrov stated that meaningful discussions on collective security cannot exclude the Russian Federation, dubbing such efforts a 'road to nowhere.'
