In a heated critique, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has condemned the BJP government for proposing the 130th Constitution Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha, claiming it threatens the democratic stability of India by permitting the removal of opposition leaders through unproven allegations and absence of a fair trial.
Stalin, voicing his concerns on social media, labeled the amendment a 'Black Bill', suggesting it signifies a move towards dictatorship, where the central government attempts to control states by intimidating rivals using unfounded legal cases. According to him, this bill camouflages the BJP's alleged 'vote theft' controversy.
The controversial bill, which aims to dismiss leaders detained for over 30 days amid accusations of serious offenses, has been forwarded to a Joint Parliamentary Committee following its introduction by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Stalin insists this attempt by the BJP will face judicial rejection as it bypasses due process, infringing upon constitutional guarantees.
