Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav has leveled accusations against the BJP and election authorities, claiming voter record manipulations in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Yadav alleged that out of 18,000 affidavits submitted by his party, only 14 were addressed with what he called 'half-baked and baseless' clarifications.
Yadav has been vocal about alleged voter list discrepancies, asserting that the Election Commission and district magistrates are at odds over the issue. Magistrates from regions such as Jaunpur, Kasganj, and Barabanki have publicly dismissed his allegations of improper voter name deletions.
In a social media post titled 'Haq ka Ganit: 18000-14 = 17986', Yadav criticized the BJP and authorities, arguing that the remaining 17,986 affidavits have gone unanswered. He declared, 'Neither suppression of rights nor votes will succeed this time,' promoting his PDA government campaign. The BJP has denied allegations of obstructing the Samajwadi Party's election preparations.
