Kerala MLA Rahul Mamkootathil Steps Down Amid Protest Storm

Rahul Mamkootathil, a Congress MLA in Kerala, has resigned as Youth Congress president in response to allegations of misbehaviour leveled by actress Rini Ann George. Although Mamkootathil claims innocence, the pressure from ongoing protests by political factions like BJP and CPI(M)'s youth wing, DYFI, compelled his decision.

During a press conference at his residence in Adoor, Mamkootathil insisted that he has not violated any laws. However, acknowledging the protests and the potential damage to party reputation, he chose to step down, emphasizing his commitment to contest any allegations against him legally if formal complaints arise.
