EC Appoints Observers for Vice Presidential Election

The Election Commission announced on Thursday the appointment of two additional secretaries from central ministries as observers for the September 9 vice presidential election. This move enables robust oversight in the pivotal election process.
Sushil Kumar Lohani from the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and D Anandan from the Ministry of Finance's Department of Expenditure have been assigned this crucial role. Meanwhile, Nitin Kumar Shivdas Khade from the Ministry of Rural Development has been placed on standby.
In this election, NDA candidate C P Radhakrishnan competes against opposition candidate B Sudarshan Reddy. The EC has exercised its constitutional authority to ensure transparency and fairness in the selection of observers.
