Zelenskiy's Unyielding Call for Dialogue Amid Russian Resistance
Ukrainian President Zelenskiy accuses Russia of obstructing a potential meeting with Putin and urges allies to impose sanctions if Moscow avoids peace efforts. He emphasizes the need for NATO-like security guarantees for Ukraine and calls for pressure on Russia to adopt a productive stance.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has accused Russia of actively obstructing arrangements for a crucial meeting between him and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Zelenskiy has called on Ukraine's allies to enforce new sanctions against Moscow if it continues to shirk efforts for peace negotiation.
During a press conference in Kyiv alongside NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Zelenskiy stressed the importance of security assurances for Ukraine from other nations. He likened these guarantees to NATO's Article 5, which mandates that an assault on one member is perceived as an aggression against all allies.
The Ukrainian leader reiterated his invitation for dialogue with Putin, underscoring Ukraine's openness to diplomatic engagement. Despite efforts by U.S. President Donald Trump and certain European leaders, Zelenskiy attributes the non-occurrence of the meeting to Russia's interference, declaring Ukraine's readiness to meet without hesitation.
