Amidst the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Ukraine's Ambassador to India, Oleksandr Polishchuk, has reiterated Kyiv's firm stance against territorial concessions to Moscow. Ensuring no compromise on Ukraine's sovereignty, Polishchuk stressed his country's resolve during an interaction with PTI Videos on Thursday night.
He criticized Russia's economic policies, highlighting benefits Russia gains from its trade with India, particularly citing discounts on oil. Polishchuk claimed these earnings are not used to improve social welfare within Russia, suggesting potential financial challenges for Moscow in the near future.
In the geopolitical arena, US-India relations have been strained following heightened tariffs on Indian imports under the Trump administration. Despite these tensions, Polishchuk commended India's diplomatic efforts, especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi's role, in seeking a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict. He also expressed hope for a potential visit from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to India, pending last year's invitation.
