Putin Weighs In on Envoy Steve Witkoff's Diplomatic Role

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Wednesday that evaluating the work of U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff was not his place. However, he remarked that last month's summit with U.S. President Donald Trump in Alaska demonstrated Witkoff's ability to convey Russia's positions accurately to the U.S. administration.

Despite this, Witkoff, known for his real estate ventures, has faced criticism from various quarters. Critics argue that his lack of political experience leaves him struggling in high-stakes meetings with Putin.

Accusations have also emerged that Witkoff's subsequent briefings to President Trump and U.S. allies have deepened confusion regarding the Kremlin's stance, further complicating diplomatic relations.
