In a sweeping political shake-up, eight ministers have resigned from the Meghalaya cabinet ahead of an anticipated reshuffle scheduled for Tuesday. This includes prominent figures such as AL Hek, Paul Lyngdoh, and Ampareen Lyngdoh.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, leading the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance, has already met Governor C H Vijayashankar at Raj Bhavan to hand over the resignations. The new ministers are set to be sworn in at 5 pm on Tuesday at the same venue.
The resignations include ministers from multiple key portfolios, making it a pivotal event. Among the new entrants expected are National People's Party legislators Wailadmiki Shylla and Sosthenes Sohtun, ensuring a refreshed cabinet is in place soon.
