The Naga People's Front (NPF) clarified on Thursday that no preconditions have been established for the proposed merger with the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), emphasizing mutual understanding to bolster Nagaland's regional force.
Following a meeting of central office bearers, NPF secretary general and MLA Achumbemo Kikon announced that discussions between both parties aim to create a robust regional platform for the Naga people. Notably, NDPP has scheduled its general convention for October 18, while NPF plans its on October 21, aligning with its 63rd foundation day. Both conventions will occur in Kohima.
Kikon emphasized the historic significance of this collaboration, noting the retained NPF name and 'cock' symbol as key to its legacy.
