AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami firmly denied any interference by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in his party's internal issues. Addressing media following his visit to Delhi, he clarified that their discussions did not touch upon intra-party matters, contrary to speculation.
Palaniswami addressed rumors following his meeting with veteran AIADMK leader K A Sengottaiyan, who had earlier spoken with Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman about revitalizing the party. Despite claims of political intervention, Palaniswami maintained that AIADMK's affairs remained independent of Shah's influence.
The denial comes amidst criticisms from opposition leaders like DMK's TTV Dhinakaran, accusing Palaniswami of political subservience to BJP. He countered these allegations, emphasizing that his interaction with Shah was purely professional. Media portrayals of him covering his face at the meeting were dismissed as defamatory.
