Political Repercussions: BJP Accuses Congress of Pro-Pakistan Stance
The BJP has criticized Congress for allegedly softening its stance against Pakistan, accusing Congress leaders of having favorable ties with the neighboring country. The accusations followed comments by Congress's overseas chief Sam Pitroda, who expressed a sense of comfort in Pakistan. BJP spokespersons used these remarks to highlight Congress's alleged inaction and leniency following various terror incidents.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a staunch attack on the Congress on Friday, accusing it of failing to take firm actions against Pakistan after the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. This criticism is grounded in the BJP's view that Congress harbors a deep affection for Pakistan.
The controversy arose after Sam Pitroda, head of Congress's overseas department, expressed his fondness for Pakistan, saying he 'felt at home' during a visit there. His comments have ignited backlash from the BJP, particularly from their national spokesperson, Pradeep Bhandari, who called Pitroda a favorite of Congress leaders.
Adding fuel to the fire, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla accused Congress of favoring Pakistan, referencing alleged communications with figures such as Hafiz Saeed and missteps like giving a pass on historic attacks. Poonawalla even mocked Congress, dubbing it the 'Islamabad National Congress.'
