Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi embarked on a pivotal four-day visit to Sri Lanka on Monday, forging stronger bilateral defense ties in the highly strategic maritime domain.

The visit by Admiral Tripathi occurs as New Delhi expresses growing concerns over China's expanding strategic footprint in Sri Lanka. During his time in Colombo, he is set to engage in comprehensive discussions with Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya, alongside crucial meetings with the three service chiefs and senior military officials.
