In a recent statement, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government to resist the increased H-1B visa fees imposed by US President Donald Trump's administration. He highlighted the significant impact on Indian nationals, notably from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, who form about 71% of the visa holders.
Owaisi critiqued the Modi government's foreign policy approach, questioning developments like Pakistan's military engagements and trade agreements with the US, while urging India to avoid yielding to external pressures. "If we can't control these developments, our future generations will face the consequences," he stated.
The member of parliament also highlighted the need for India to pursue trade agreements in rupee terms as part of a broader strategy for de-dollarisation, reflecting on recent pro-Trump events such as "Howdy Modi" and challenging their effectiveness.
