In a recent development, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal A P Singh announced that Indian military strikes under Operation Sindoor severely damaged Pakistani air capabilities. The operation is said to have taken out multiple aircraft, including F-16 jets, and caused widespread damage to Pakistani military infrastructure.
The strikes, which targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan, also led to significant destruction of hangars, radars, command and control centers, and runways across various locations. With terror groups reportedly relocating bases to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, India demonstrated its continued capability to target with precision.
Ahead of the Air Force Day, the Air Chief indicated potential procurement of additional S-400 air defense missile systems. He affirmed the country's stance on defending its territories and mentioned the ongoing development of the indigenous 'Sudarshan Chakra' air defense system to safeguard key military and civilian installations.
