Thackeray Cousins Forge Political Alliance with Heart and Mind
The Thackeray cousins, Uddhav and Raj, have strengthened their political alliance ahead of Maharashtra's civic polls. The alliance, discussed in a recent meeting, aims to ensure a Marathi mayor for Mumbai, distinct from Delhi influences. While not officially part of the MVA, Raj maintains good ties with its leaders.

In a significant political development, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) head Raj Thackeray have reportedly consolidated their alliance ahead of the upcoming civic polls in Maharashtra. This strategic alliance, announced MP Sanjay Raut, is aimed at ensuring a Marathi representative for Mumbai's mayoral position.
Raut emphasized that the bond between the Thackeray cousins is now strong, both personally and politically, thereby ruling out any external attempts to sever their ties. The political discussion, which took place during a family gathering, signifies a shift from past cold relations between the two leaders.
Although discussions between the Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS do not currently extend to joining the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), good relations persist. As elections approach, detailed talks are anticipated to determine leadership and strategies across Maharashtra's 27 civic bodies, including the influential BMC.
