In a concurrent electoral schedule, the bye-election for the Ghatshila (ST) assembly constituency in Jharkhand is slated for November 11, aligning with the second phase of the Bihar elections, as announced by the Election Commission (EC) on Monday.

The seat for the Ghatshila constituency became vacant due to the demise of Jharkhand Education Minister Ramdas Soren, aged 62, at a private hospital in New Delhi on August 15.

According to the EC's timeline, the official gazette notification about the by-poll will be released on October 13. Candidates must file their nominations by October 21, with the withdrawal deadline set for October 24. The vote-counting process is scheduled for November 14, following the first phase of the Bihar assembly elections on November 6.
