In Jammu and Kashmir, the Budgam and Nagrota constituencies have been vacant since October 2024. Budgam was left unoccupied after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah retained the Ganderbal seat, while Nagrota became vacant due to MLA Devender Singh Rana's passing.
Other constituencies requiring bypolls due to deaths include Odisha's Nuapada, Jharkhand's Ghatsila, Punjab's Tarn Taran, Mizoram's Dampa, and Telangana's Jubilee Hill. In Rajasthan, the bypoll in Anta follows the disqualification of BJP MLA Kanwarlal after a conviction.
