A tragic fire erupted late Sunday night at the ICU of SMS Hospital in Jaipur, claiming six lives. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Laxmikant Bhardwaj described the incident as 'extremely unfortunate' and expressed condolences to the affected families.
Bhardwaj commended Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for his immediate response. Gehlot reportedly arrived at the hospital at 2:30 AM, managed the emergency, and ensured rapid medical care for the critical patients. He also ordered quick transportation arrangements for the deceased to their families.
Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph mentioned that initial investigations hint at a short circuit as the potential cause, but a forensic team would confirm this after a detailed probe. In response to the tragedy, the Rajasthan government established a committee to lead the investigation.
