In a bid to ensure effective patrolling in Bihar's Diara region during the assembly elections, police officers will be on horseback, venturing across 250 specified polling booths. Meanwhile, patrol parties will navigate through waterways using boats to reach 197 remote stations, as outlined by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Monday.

During a press conference to disclose the Bihar assembly poll schedule, Kumar explained that Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will now feature color photographs of candidates, enhancing voter recognition. This comes in response to past complaints about difficulty identifying black and white images on ballot papers.

The extensive electoral preparation includes setting up 90,712 polling booths to accommodate over 7.42 crore eligible voters. Voting will occur over two phases on November 6 and 11, with the counting slated for November 14. Enhanced measures, including clearer serial number displays on EVMs, are part of this comprehensive election strategy.
